The Disabled Disciple is a ministry conceived by the late Rev. Dr. Philip Ginyard. This blog site is a platform for literary expressions that reflects the perspective of the Kingdom of God.
Dr. Ginyard had ALS, also known as Lou Gherig's disease. It's a debilitating disease that caused him to lose the use of his speech and bodily mobility. However, his cognitive ability was unaffected, so he wrote his blog posts with the use of a computer operated by eye gaze technology.
He was the former Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Swedesboro, New Jersey. He was a strong proponent of Christians living as missional disciples of Jesus Christ in a post-modern world. Dr. Ginyard was the Director of the Biblical Theology Diploma Program at Missio Seminary. He held a BA degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Diploma in Biblical Theology from Palmer Seminary, Master of Divinity degree and Doctor of Ministry degree, both from Missio Seminary.
Dr. Ginyard was committed to living out the mission of Jesus Christ despite the encumbrances that limited him physically. He hung his hat on James 1:25. He lived in New Jersey with his wife and best friend, Donna Brown Ginyard.
